Online classroom code of conduct

Code of conduct

Conduct matters in the classroom, whether virtual or in person.  ALL classroom conduct is expected to follow one basic rule.

Respect.  We respect each other and we respect ourselves.  We seek to cultivate a culture of respect for all people and this respects extends to both the online and the physical classroom.

By enrolling in this class, you agree to the following code of conduct.

  • I, a student in the class, will create and uphold a safe, open, welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment for learning, conducting, and communicating with integrity, respect, fairness, trustworthiness, and transparency. This includes learning and using good practices for intercultural and diverse collaborations, maintaining the dignity of all individuals, and valuing diversity in all forms.
  • I will refrain from all forms of discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
  • In addition to my own conduct, if I witness or am otherwise made aware of discrimination, harassment, or bullying by others, I will actively seek to prevent, report, and/or otherwise mitigate the offensive behavior.  I will also promptly report it to Dr. McGovern so she can address the issue quickly.
  • I agree to this code of conduct for all interactions in this class, both online and in-person.

Students who violate the code of conduct or any university code of conducts can be charged with a violation of the Student Code of Responsibilities and Conduct. If you have repeated disruptive issues, you will be withdrawn from the class.
